Current Situation Of Homeopathy In The United Kingdom
Filed Under United Kingdom | Comments Off
Sanjib Sarkar asked:
Homeopathy in England was introduced by Dr. Quinn in the 1830s. Since that time this form of alternative medicine has flourished in England. Homeopathy has steadily grown in England and is funded by the National Healthcare System (NHS) of the UK.
Homeopathy has always had an elite status in UK. It is used by the royal family and other celebrities such as Paul McCartney and Catherine Zeta Jones. This form of alternative medicine has been under attack of late in England. The royal family has used homeopathy for centuries in England. They are big supporters of homeopathy but they will not get involved in the current issue of homeopathy in the NHS.
Current homeopathic hospitals in the United Kingdom face closure due to an orchestrated campaign by leading doctors in the UK saying homeopathy is simply a placebo. They point to many studies showing trials where homeopathic medicine is no better than a placebo. The doctors are telling many doctors not to give out homeopathic referrals. Without enough referrals, homeopathic hospitals will have to close.
Tunbridge homeopathic hospital has already scheduled to close due to lack of funding and referrals. Some other hospitals are also facing cuts by the NHS. They are getting less referrals than in the past. The critics claim that the NHS has limited funds that should not be used on unproven treatments such as homeopathy.
The media and other have pointed to Lancet trials showing homeopathy does not work. However, these homeopathy trials have many issues with research bias and validity. Trails in homeopathic medicine have been a mixed bag. Many homeopathic trials have been unsuccessful. However, there have also been some very well designed homeopathic trials that showed a positive result for homeopathy. BBC has done some experiments with homeopathic dilutions showing no effects between a water dilution and a homeopathic dilution. There has not been in scientific evidence that this type of alternative medicine works. Critics claim homeopathy is not plausible due to the high amount of dilutions being used. Homeopathy dilutions of 24X or 12C contain no measurable substance of the remedy.
The homeopathy users of the homeopathic hospitals seems to be quite satisfied with their treatments. Even with all the lack of funding from the NHS, fewer doctors writing referrals and the bad media press, homeopathy in England still seems to be growing. The public comes in growing numbers to this type of alternative medicine. In 2007, the UK market is estimated to be worth 38 million pounds. In 2012, the market is going to reach 46 million pounds.

Does a text from the United Kingdom cost more than a normal text?

of a demon in my view asked:
I have Cingular Wireless (or AT&T), with a BlackJack phone. With it, I have 1000 texts a month that don’t cost more than like ten dollars or something. I was wondering if anyone knew texting to the United Kingdom was included in the package or if it’ll cost more on top of it or have its own charge.

I was told that France’s economy was more resilient to bounce back from the economic hardship that is the Great Depression unlike other nations (especially Germany).
Was it that they were getting reparations from post-WWI treaties from Germany?
This is out of curiousity.

Tips for Italy Travel
Filed Under Italy | Comments Off
Webmaster asked:
If you are looking for a European tourist destination, consider the island of Sicily, a region of southern Italy. Depending on your interests, this beautiful area can be an ideal vacation spot. You’ve planned for weeks and months and now your dream to travel Italy is almost a reality. Here are a few helpful pointers to help make your adventures go more smoothly.
http://www.right-travel.com/index.php
Italy, a real treasure chest of culture and heritage - with Italy food, Italy wine, Italy culture and Italy history, is always on the top of a European tour list. A tour to Italy would not be complete without going to Florence. This city is in the heart of Tuscany and is sometimes considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. It is a place that is famous for its abundance of fine art and architecture and in the modern day, its fashion and leather goods.
In general the weather is very hot and steaming in the dead of the summer. We recommend that you wear light clothing. Be sure to have sunglasses, hat and sunblock, as they are essential. Afternoon thunderstorms (brief) are common in Rome and inland cities, so you may want to consider bringing an umbrella. The most romantic wedding traditions from around the word: Italy, Spain & Egypt
If you are feeling a little tired out after a few days of sightseeing in Florence, a Florence hills tour can be a great way to relax and wind down. With a great ambience and an aura of solitude the hills of Florence are very popular and ideal for those who wish to take a break from the city.
If you only have a few hours to spare and don’t want to venture too far from Florence, then a trip to the town of Fiesole is highly recommended. Set amongst the hills, just 5 miles from Florence, Fiesole makes a pleasant half-day trip from Florence and provides a wonderful view of the city. You can get there by bus from the centre of Florence in around 20 minutes.
If you have a full day to spare there are numerous tour companies that can organise day trips by bus, walking tours or biking trips. On the other hand you can hire a car and use a map to discover the delight of the Tuscan countryside for yourself.
A guided walking tour of the Florence hills will provide you with an insider’s view of Florence & Tuscany - you can discover the hidden treasures and learn of great legends and stories, giving you a more intimate experience of the region of Tuscany. A walk through the Florence hills is invigorating and you can soak up the beauty of the surroundings as you breathe in the fresh air and bask in the warm sun. You’ll also find plenty of photo opportunities as you pass by churches, castles, hill top towns and villages, olive trees and vineyards

Car Hire in the United Kingdom - What You Should Know
Filed Under United Kingdom | Comments Off
Gen Wright asked:
in the United Kingdom can be quite an enjoyable experience, with the majestic landscapes to enjoy and great cities to explore.
You’ll need a car in order to get you to these places, as taxi drivers charge by the mile and it can be quite expensive if you’re staying for an extended time. This is where car hire services come in. There are many options you can choose from.
Car hire services are usually paid for by the day, with bulk discounts available from many vendors if you order a set amount of days, or if you place your order a few weeks in advance. This is better than having cab services because you’re free to go where you want to go, without worrying about finding the cab, or having to use public transportation. You can also travel between towns if you find lodgings which are cheaper in a smaller town, but not too far from your destination. You can find cheap car hire at airports in UK, or you can choose to go with an off-site car hire service, which may be even cheaper.
If you decide to go with a service which doesn’t have a location based at your airport, you should decide whether or not you want pick up service. It’s easy to take a cab to the service and get your car, which might be a few pounds cheaper per day, rather than one hired from the counter at the airport.
If you’d like the car to be ready and waiting on you when you step off of the plane, Hertz does have this feature. They also have a driver who will pick up the car and take it back to the dealership after you’re finished and planning on leaving. This service may cost a little extra, but it’s great to have for those who’d rather not waste time making arrangements while on vacation. Hertz’s cars also offer many modern conveniences , such as DVD Players and GPS navigation so you always know where you are going.
If you need budget car hire services, you should compare car hire in UK from Alamo, Avis, Budget, Economy, and Hertz. As each of these companies is a major operator in car hire services, you’re sure to get the quality and service you need in order to make your vacation as smooth as possible. Each company has a variety of cars in their fleet which is sure to suit your needs.
Always remember as you compare prices, the sooner you make your reservation with your chosen dealership, the better your car hire company can serve you. You also stand a chance to save more money by reserving early, so if you’re on a budget, earlier is always better.
